Right to Information
The primary purpose of the legislation is to give a right of access to information in the government’s (including a GOC and subsidiaries) possession or under the government’s control unless, on balance, it is contrary to the public interest to give the access.
Requests under these Acts
Under the Right to Information Act 2009 (Qld) and the Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld), you can only apply to access or amend documents. You can’t use this process to ask for answers to your questions.
Apply to the correct company
You will need to apply to the company which has the documents you want to access. If more than one company has documents you are interested in, you will need to complete an application form and submit to each agency.
Note: You must submit a separate application to each agency you seek information from.
As a member of the public, you have the right to:
- Documents held by us - You can apply for access to, or copies of, documents held by us. Just download and complete the Right to Information or Information Privacy Access Application. View the applicable Fees and Charges.
- Documents that relate to your personal information - Request access to, or copies of, documents that relate to your personal information and apply to have that information amended. Just download and complete the Information Privacy Personal Information Amendment Application.
